For aviator Kenneth Arnold in flight near Mountains Rainier with an appearance of flying saucers
Mt Rainier
hollows and victories
across the far valley in early spring,
clouds
darkening in low downcast,
prediction of rain, and above,
where
such tears begin, the mountain is
pleated along the plateau as if all is
slowly melting, flooding plains – nine
such sightings occur where density
observes that land and sky are in diverse
proportions, an ultra spacing where
storms come from beyond the haunt of
emerging,
reemerging.
restless aqua sperm heaving in
proportion to hues demanded for a new
form who forms suddenly,
jolting into meaning –a concept. a body – a birthing
this sudden impact, that flesh of a
volcano’s stone ridge
which spreads invariably
recessing, tracing, asking, grasping
perimeters (our human way, making
sense
of perceptions forgotten when longing.
we just merge into one extravagant
membership).
if earth green and blue emerging are as
exacting as this deep touch
where liquids gather, where mist prevails,
comes
an emergence from secret hiding places.
Rainier, a reflection, our inflection
whispers of golden mountains
to reveal us as a momentary resolution
in time for what is to be,
a chalice
overflowing
where inexactitude is an insistent urge
searching the open point of what is primal
(always then dissolving but human-like
our souls come forth – a shifting of
metaphors) in a span of well-being,
meanings change, move
momentarily aside or if daring allow
from inside coming to us
swelling, springing forth with crocus
jonquil, forsythia and we are such selves
conjoining
with denizens of heaven who gather
blossoms, cast seeds for gardens of earth
and other orbs by season
to reconcile thoughts.
resolutions to begin again as visions, over
and over – all thrust purges, fomenting
from within promises of becoming
the marrow of being,
sun shining,
gravity as light,
an atom
one at a time, we are a union, a
finalizing force, relentless and fierce,
and promising.
