THE THIRD ANNUAL WORLD'S SMALLEST GIFT GUIDE

To choose or not to choose? Yes, there’s such a thing as over choice, so once again WONDERLUST presents two travel tested gifts that are timeless, just in time for the holiday season.

Retekess Portable Radio

There’s low tech and high tech, but my favorite is BEST tech–hence my search for the smallest, lightest, battery operated radio I could find. The result: a radio from Retekess, a brand I hadn’t heard of before. It’s perfect for those times one gets screen-rebound and just can’t bear to look at another screen. Out comes the radio, all the better to tune in and vibe with the locals. Last time I switched my travel radio on to a music station, I started dancing in a Vienna hotel room. Added bonus is the radio retro-runs on two AA batteries, handy in case there’s a power outage. Who cares if portable radios aren’t trendy? If you’ve read this far, I bet you don’t either.

Hydro Flask Travel Mug

I don’t need to add any more microplastics to my body, thank you very much. So I’ll skip the Styrofoam (or the like) cups at hotel rooms or the chipped Lilliputian mugs at AirBnbs. This is where Hydro Flask’s 12-ounce mug comes in. Note: there’s also a super-size-me 24 ounce version currently on holiday-sale for $24.71. The mugs are stainless steel lined, coated to not slip or clink, and there’s an optional lid that the website describes as “closeable and splash-resistant.” I like to fix my own bevvy in a hotel room or sometimes take the mug down to the breakfast buffet for a cup to go. There are eight colors to choose from. Berry and Indigo are universally likable, but the Lupine lilac shade is calling my name.
