HOW TO HAVE A LUXURY VACATION IN MOROCCO

 

Morocco is fabled and exotic in our minds from movies like Casablanca, and from what we’ve read and seen of the times rock stars like the Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix spent there. It’s been mythologized in entertsinment and literature as a place of spies and romantic (and often doomed) ex pats, in books like The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles (or what I think is even better, his The Spider’s House).

 

It’s a mysterious and familiar land, although so little is known about the country. You can experience the alien world of the top of the Sahara one day, and be on the beach on the Mediterranean the next.  You can shop in the Souks and eat some of the best food in the world, right there or really anywhere in the country — in the glorious cities like Tangier, Marrakesh, Fez or Casablanca, or in the mountains, like this place, Roches Armed, in Armed.

Stay in a Moroccan Palace

Consider finding a touring option that offers activities such as hiking or sand boarding for an experience you will never forget. Also, some companies will offer amazing dining options for multi-day desert journies.

 

This is a great way to see the beautiful desert sunrises and sunsets that paint the sky, as well as being able to see the crystal clear skies at night that showcase the Milky Way.
